Charles A. Naso began his career styling hair in 1974. In the early 1980s he began to long for his own salon and in February 1983 he opened Charles Anthony's Hair Salon · Spa in the historical Strong House, the home of the founder of our community John Stoughton Strong. Starting with a staff of three including himself and Marianne his future wife, the new salon quickly grew to occupy not only the first floor of the Strong House but the upstairs as well. Needing larger facilities to accommodate his twenty-two employees and their burgeoning business, the salon moved across the street to their current location at 13500 Pearl Road in early 1990.

They host bridal parties where their stylists specialize in beautiful special occasion hair as well as the latest in contemporary hair cutting and designing. They do paneling, highlights, color on color, and shoe shines which is the application of a highlight produced by putting the color on a piece of foil and then transferring the color to the tips of the hair with a technique reminiscent of buffing a shoe.
