Cuyahoga Landmark was founded in Cleveland in 1934 and the Strongsville store opened in 1938. After Gary Smith was discharged from the service in 1971, he was hired to sweep the floors at Cuyahoga Landmark, and later worked his way through the positions of truck driver, salesman, and maintenance man, finally becoming President of the company. Originally a co-op, Cuyahoga Landmark became a straight corporation and then began to be approached by outsiders wanting to buy the company. As the bidding commenced, Gary threw his hat in the ring, won the bidding, and became the new owner of Cuyahoga Landmark. We visited recently with Gary and Retail Manager Shawn Varga, and listened as they outlined the products and services they carry;
Cuyahoga Landmark specializes in the finest lawn/garden products services, custom made bird seed, and a full line of petroleum-based fuels. Call or stop by Cuyahoga Landmark today, and don't forget to tell them The Advocate sent you! |
